Parliament requires MPs to pay their staff in accordance with their salary guidelines. The pay ranges have been approved by The Speaker's Advisory Panel on Members' Allowances. These pay ranges are based on 37.5 hours net per week:

Scale A: Office Managers/Executive Secretaries Pay Range £20,559 - £38,623

Scale B: Senior Secretaries Pay Range £16,821- £29,280

Scale E: Caseworker Pay Range £13,082 - £24,296

Scale F: Senior Research/Parliamentary Assistant Pay Range £26,789 - £38,623

Scale G: Research/Parliamentary Assistant Pay Range £13,705 - £33,018

Dan Norris employs:

All pay rates are pro-rata, with some employees working part-time. All contracts are registered with Parliament and all are encouraged to be members of appropriate trade unions.

On occasion other people have worked for Dan Norris, but they have not been paid for from MP allowances. This has included people seconded to him, volunteer students wanting work experience in gap years, or people paid for by Dan Norris.

Dan Norris does not employ from MP allowances any partner or member of his family.

Dan Norris's total staffing costs for 2006/2007 were £87,276
