Keynsham Cadbury's: MP seeks views urgently to help shape discussions with bosses at Kraft As you know, Cadbury's is the subject of a takeover bid by Kraft, an American food company. Kraft have said they think they can keep Keynsham's historic Somerdale factory open. Understandably this is providing hope locally. However, without providing something meaningful in writing, Kraft's words are not enough and Somerdale will still close in a matter of months. Your help is needed to show Kraft the strength of local public opinion as key meetings and discussions take place over the coming days and weeks. So it is now or never to make your voice heard in these eleventh hour efforts to save Somerdale. STOP PRESS - Initial survey outcomes now available here The economic prosperity of Keynsham has an impact right across North East Somerset, as well as Bristol and Bath. I have produced a very short survey and I would like to ask for your help. Because this is urgent, if at all possible, please respond to this survey by email or text. Any additional comments you have can be added to the end of your email or text. Responses will be fed directly back to Kraft bosses when I meet with them. The three simple questions are: 1 Despite the
Somerdale closure programme being under way, Kraft say they believe they
could keep the factory open if they took over Cadbury's. How important
would saving the factory be for future employment prospects for Keynsham
people? A Important for Keynsham 2 Keynsham
has proudly been making chocolate for over 70 years. How confident are
you that in five years' time Keynsham will still have a working chocolate
factory at Somerdale? A Confident 3 The Kraft
takeover would mean a UK company being owned by an American one. When
shareholders decide on Kraft's bid, should the prospect of keeping Keynsham
jobs at Somerdale be considered more or less important than whether the
company goes into American ownership? A Saving local jobs
is more important than who owns Somerdale To TEXT or EMAIL
