Radstock primary schools outstanding Ofsted verdict confirms education in the town is on the up
Radstocks education has a spring in its step, says the towns MP, following a judgement by school watchdog Ofsted that Trinity Primary School is outstanding (3 November 2009).
Staff and children at the school, which opened in 2005 following its new £3.5 million construction paid for entirely by Government money will be celebrating the inspection outcome today, Tuesday 3 November.
Headteacher Pepe Rahman-Hart contacted North East Somersets MP Dan Norris to let him know of the schools success.
Mr Norris said: Very many congratulations to Pepe, her hard-working team of staff and governors, and to the whole school community. Parents and, above all, the children should be very proud of what they are achieving.
Just over a decade ago education in Radstock was in the doldrums because cash-strapped schools were being starved of resources. Now, with this oustanding Ofsted report, and with the brand new Writhlington secondary School opening soon thanks to the Governments £26 million investment, Radstock education has a spring in its step.
It is to be hoped that, whilst Conservative B&NES councillors attend the school to showboat in front of the cameras following this inspection result, they do some hard thinking and reflecting. Every penny of this school rebuilding came from the Labour Government. And all the extra investment that Trinity and other schools are now able to use to improve education has come because the Labour Government has put money into schools to improve every childs life chances. Every step of the way, the Tories have opposed this investment, and if they got their hands on power again we all know that new schools like the outstanding Trinity Primary would never see the light of day. |
