Local councils serving Midsomer Norton, Radstock and Westfield

Some people have been raising concerns about the performance of our local councils. One idea that has been suggested is re-structuring Norton Radstock Town Council.

This might mean having various separate Town Councils for Midsomer Norton, Radstock and Westfield. This would give each community its own grass roots authority. On the other hand, some people question whether the costs of establishing three new Councils would be a good use of public money - particularly at a time of global recession.

This isn't among the main issues raised at my twice-weekly surgeries and coffee mornings, but it's clearly something being talked about by some people. So I want to get views from a wider selection of residents to gauge more accurately what people living in the area might want to change about the way their local services are provided.

I would therefore be grateful if you would please take a few minutes to complete and return my short survey, which can be found using this link (PDF file). If you would like a paper copy please call 01761 320023, leaving a message if necessary, or email dan@dannorris.org.uk
