More heating and insulation help for North East Somerset residents as Warm Front scheme is expanded Since the Government introduced the Warm Front scheme nine years ago, over £1.5 million has been invested in heating and insulation measures in North East Somerset homes. Nearly 1,600 local households are warmer as a result. Theyre more energy-efficient too, helping cut the cost of fuel bills. That figure should rise further soon. A little-mentioned measure from the recent Budget means householders who are eligible for Warm Front grants can now have heating and insulation measures up to the value of £3,500 paid for them, up £800 on the previous limit. Some householders had previously been put off getting the work done because they worried the cost of the necessary work might exceed the money available. The Governments increase will help encourage still more people to take the time to find out of they qualify for the scheme by calling freephone 0800 316 2805 or visiting www.warmfront.co.uk As we head towards what will hopefully be a warm summer, cutting winter fuel bills is the last thing on many residents minds. But this is actually a good time to find out what assistance is available to you. If you qualify, the improvement work could be sorted in time for the next cold spell.
