Working to sort
out local neighbourhood problems
A few weeks ago, when
some Welton Vale residents came to one of my regular coffee mornings in
Midsomer Norton, they talked about some issues local to their road that
were playing on their minds.
These
included difficulties faced by people with disabilities. They said they'd
been asking the Council to sort things out for some time, but with no
joy. For example they wanted a drop kerb for wheelchair access. That's
something that helps families with buggies too, of course.
After our conversation I approached B&NES on their behalf. I'm pleased
that, following my approach, the drop kerb has now finally been put in
place to make life easier.
This is exactly the type of neighbourhood issue I want to hear about so
I can help.
Though it will never replace my ongoing programme of face-to-face contact
with constituents, I recently established a new
webpage, giving you the opportunity to raise specific local issues
direct from this website.
There are other ways
to get in touch
with me. And remember you don't need an appointment to meet at my
twice-weekly surgeries to raise your concerns.
